This tutor is written in MicroSoft Visual Basic 5 and works only in Windows 95. The lessons for single- handed typist are provided in LESSONS.ZIP. The lessons should be put in the same folder as the tutor exe file. There must be at least one file with the extention .txt or an error is generated. Do not try to run Win95tu.exe unless a .txt file is in the folder. You can't. The file 1.txt is provided in the zip for that purpose. Move it to the folder with Win95tu.exe.
To run a Visual Basic program you must have certain files in your Windows\system folder. Win95tu.zip includes those files along with a setup program to put the files on your computer. If they are present no action is taken. The setup program is written with MicroSoft Visual Basic Version 5 Setup Wizard. It has been tested and works great. It includes an uninstall if you don't like it. That is always important to me.
Visual Basic is a great programing language. There is nothing "BASIC" about it. It allows the user to program great looking and working Windows programs without too, too much difficulty. One college course is all that is needed. You will be seeing more and more programs written in Visual Basic.
You need the files to run a Visual Basic program in your system. You may have them. Setup decides which are needed with this program and loads (or updates) those on your system if they are not present. There are only about 2 MB of files total after unzipping. It is MicroSoft VB5 Enterprise Edition so it has to be good. Right? I think it really is.
