This is an Alto recorder fitted with keys - to be played with one hand.
Above is Zen-on recorder from Lee Collins that I play every day and find it to be completely satisfactory.
You can play a woodwind if you have one hand! I wanted to play the recorder and couldn't find one to buy so I put keys on one. It was not difficult. It was a Yamaha Series 300 plastic recorder. They cost a little over $40 in the alto. The keys are brass from the hardware store. It took me about a week to build it. It plays great!! I don't play too well!
You can build one if you want.
Shouldn't every kid who needs one of these have it?
I have built two keyed penny whistles for single-handed play, also. Do you know about the tabor pipe?
George Kelischek gave me advice when I went to his place in Brasstown, NC. He is a very nice man!
