Locate the home keys and do the exercise above until they are fixed in your mind. Do not hurry. Play with the home keys until you are sure they are memorized. Do the exercise below and the TUTOR lessons. Index finger is on the E. Little finger on the D. The thumb strikes the space bar.

The first task is to learn the home keys. This will take a little time but is not difficult. The degree of difficulty is about the same as for two-handed people. Notice how many of them have not learned to type? It takes a certain amount of "gumption" to master any skill. Many people start to "do", find that effort is involved, and quit. Typing is a very valueable skill. It will take a good deal of effort to aquire it.

"Gumption" is Grandma Tillis's word. Is it in the dictionary? If you don't have any you're in a mess!
