The Release for Single-handed Shooters

Here is a photograph of the release that I use. I have supplied close ups of individual parts that you can view from the menu. The strap is made from a piece of nylon strap for strength. Under the nylon strap is sewn a strip of what the fabric and craft store calls "headliner" material. It is foam-like material with black nylon glued to it. It reminded me of the material on the inside of many releases at the bow shop. It provides some softness against your skin. On the outside of the nylon strap I have sewn camoflauge material for looks. It is nice and soft too. I have put an eyelet from the sewing shop through the strap where the rope attaches. There is a piece of 1/8 th inch brass rod under the rope in case the eylet should want to tear out. I can't afford to shoot until I say so! Of course, I never pull the bow when there is anything even remotely in the direction I am pointing. I have had no real misfires. I have shot before I was really ready, as has everyone I know.

This outfit shows many scuff marks. It has released thousands of arrows. The Scott Little Goose shows almost no sign of wear. A photo release gave up the ghost once after many shots. I carry a spare in the field. I have not cut the rope to length as I can never decide how long it should be. I guess I never will.
